How to cope with the pandemic situation
At the request of Zangchoed Chaezin Tsokpa, Tsenshap Serkong Rinpoche gave advice to the people of Spiti on how to cope with the pandemic situation, which was livestreamed via Facebook on 8 October 2020.
Tsenshap Serkong Rinpoche gave advice on how to deal with this very difficult situation and encouraged the people to stay healthy and be cautious. As he stated, it is important to not only stay physically strong, but also mentally. Staying mentally strong is the most important. We need to be mentally strong each and every day, and not only during the pandemic, which may last one or two years.
He also referred to the first three principal commitments of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and how the people of Spiti should themselves put these commitments into practice: as a human being, His Holiness commits to encourage people to be happy and to promote warm-heartedness and human values, such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline; as a monk, he commits to encouraging harmony between the different religious traditions in this world; and as a Tibetan and the Dalai Lama, he commits to preserving the Tibetan language, culture and heritage received from the Nalanda Masters and the natural environment.
