Curriculum

Serkong School offers a kindergarten facility and classes from Grade 1 to Grade 10 in English, Hindi and Bhoti (Tibetan), social science, social studies, mathematics and general knowledge. The upper classes also study computing, Sanskrit and art. The teaching follows the curriculum and requirements of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education.

Tibetan culture

The Tibetan culture is strengthened by specific education in the Bothi language (the Tibetan language spoken in Spiti Valley and Ladakh), music and dance. The regular donation of books to the school by the Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama acts as a particularly strong support in this regard.

Environmental awarenness

The remoteness of Spiti Valley, its long winters and the sparse vegetation make the area vulnerable to changes in the climate, and to man-made environmental damage. Serkong School therefore conducts environmental and sustainability awareness training every year.

Sports

To ensure a healthy life, outdoors and sports activities are a regular part of students’ time at Serkong School.
